FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
PARTICIPATION
You can sign up at https://slingshot.agorize.com/2021-edition with a valid email address. Click on ‘Participate’ to receive announcements and notifications about the competition.
When there is an update, you will receive an email from the admin on the Agorize platform and at your provided email address. Please make sure you have clicked ‘Participate’ and check your junk mailbox!
The Agorize platform is open for support and can answer any question related to the competition. Use the messaging feature and reach out to your admin.
You will receive an email confirmation upon successful registration for the SLINGSHOT 2021 competition. If you do not receive any confirmation within 24 hours, please reach out to david.gomez@agorize.com.
To update your details, log in, and go to your participant profile to edit or change your details.
In this challenge, only one team member should apply and will act as the representative for the startup in question.
ELIGIBILITY
We are not just looking for brilliant ideas, but most importantly, practical and scalable solutions.
Any international startups with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and meet the following conditions are eligible to participate:

- can illustrate initial signs of traction;
- have proprietary technology or solutions.
Regardless of your business area, all startups are welcome to apply in any categories stated in the SLINGSHOT 2021 Competition:
- Sustainability
- Health & Wellness
- Smart Cities
- Frontier Digital Technology
APPLICATION PHASE
Your startup must submit a 10-slide PDF explaining:
- Problem/solution
- Market and total addressable market (TAM)
- Value proposition and positioning
- Go-to-market strategy
- Business/revenue model
- Traction: KPI metrics and milestones
- Forecast 2021/2022
- Team presentation
There is no template but please do a final check prior to submission:
- Your PDF must be in English
- Please preview and confirm that your submissions are accurate
For the Deepening Phase, if you are one of the TOP 500 startups, your representative must submit a short video introduction (up to 2 mins in length) for the company, elevator pitch style!
The deadline for submitting your completed application is [extended] August 13 2021, 23.59 (GMT+8).
MENTORSHIP
Mentoring is part of the awards for the TOP 100 global startups that will be attending the Grand Online Final Event.
To interact with your mentors please visit your participation space and open the tab called "Mentors" there you will find the Agorize messaging feature.
Each participating team will receive mentorship from up to 5 Mentors.
Your Mentors are selected by top industry leaders and will be revealed at a later date.
You are welcome to reach out to your assigned Mentors for technical assistance related to your team's solution/business model.
For questions regarding the challenge or the framework of the competition, please reach out to the admins.
The mentorship phase will last for a total of 2 weeks.
The top 500 and top 100 Startups will have the opportunity to participate in Disrupt and Gear up, initiatives lasting 1 week each with the aim of providing them with more insights and information to take their business to the next level!
- Disrupt - October 25-29: For the top 1000 Startups
- Gear up - November 1-5: For the top 100 Startups
SLINGSHOT FINALS
The announcement for the TOP 100 startups will be made between October 14-15.
The winning startups will be invited to the SLINGSHOT online final event from 8 to 10 November 2021.
Grand Winner and Sector winners:
- One Grand Winner (overall): S$200,000 Startup SG grant (On top of SGD 50,000 Startup SG Grant which is awarded to Top 12 startups) and 18 months’ rent-free space at JTC launchpad
- Top 12 Winners: S$50,000 Startup SG grant
Top 100 Global Startups:
- An invitation to the Virtual Semi-Finals as part of SFF x SWITCH 2021
- EntrePass (working visa for foreign entrepreneurs in Singapore) [International applicants only]
- Access to corporates, investors, and mentor networks
Top 1000 Startups:
- An opportunity to participate in the Corporate Challenge and connect with corporate innovation players and win up to S$30,000 StartupSG Grant prizes.
- Complimentary SWITCH Pass to SWITCH 2021.
